It is with great sadness that we announce we have lost a former board member, dear friend, coworker, teacher, trainer & Modern Mystic, Malcolm Hooe. Malcolm had a bout with COVID that he had difficulty shaking off due to other health issues. He landed in the hospital, then rehab. He seemed to be getting better but
had a massive heart attack in the middle of the night, Friday Oct 11, 2024.
Malcolm was devoted to God, to his family, to his faith and to each task he committed to. At Via de Dios, he taught classes like Historic Women Mystics and wrote the main article for each monthly newsletter. He was on our Advisory Board and was intending to join the Board of Directors.
He was extremely well read, was a huge part of his Church community, was on the Church council and several committees as well as creating several classes including a Contemplative Prayer group at his church. Malcolm was a Godly man who will be sorely missed yet joyfully remembered for his wit and wisdom.
