Jason will lay out the basics of biblical theology and the Person of Jesus Christ and then
demonstrate how this was built upon by Christians in the early centuries. Further we will
explore the ways that spiritual disciplines concerning prayer and the organization of Christian
communities developed and have changed over the last 2000 years. In this survey, we will also
Identify and explore different prayer practices from the Christian Tradition.

PART 1: Saturday February 25

A biblical survey of the doctrine of God, of Christ, of salvation, of
resurrection, and of piety/prayer. The emphasis will be that God
designed us for participation in the Kingdom/ life of God.

PART 2: Saturday March 25

An Introduction and survey of the development of monasticism/
asceticism/ prayer in the first thousand years; 2nd to 9th century.

PART 3: Saturday April 22

An Introduction and survey of the development of monasticism/
asceticism/ prayer from the 10th to the 18th centuries.

PART 4: Saturday May 27

An Introduction and survey of the development of monasticism/
asceticism/ prayer from the 18th century up to the present.
